Dear Parent/Guardian:
The retreat for our 8th grade Confirmation candidates will take place on Sunday, October 18, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on the Saint Malachy Campus. The retreat is a critical part of each candidate's preparation for the sacrament, and it is a lot of fun too!
So we can plan for food and chaperone needs, please confirm your child's attendance at the retreat by clicking the button below and completing the brief form. RSVP deadline is September 18. If you have already RSVP'd, no need to do so again.
Please note:
- The retreat begins in Saint Malachy Church with 9:00 Mass, which is for candidates and their family members. The remainder of the retreat is for candidates only.
- After Mass, candidates should be dropped off at Youth Ministry Center (former Saint Malachy gymnasium) and picked up from the YMC at 4:00 PM.
- Candidates are expected to attend the entire retreat. Please do not request for your child to arrive late or leave early. If your child cannot attend the entire retreat, they should complete the online retreat instead (see next item).
- Candidates, who are unable to attend AGP's retreat on October 18, can instead complete the Greater Online Retreat at greaterretreat.com. The content of the online retreat is spread out over four weeks*. Deadline to complete the retreat is March 1st, so your child will need to start no later than February 1st. Cost is $24 and you must submit your child's completion certificate to Steven Swank at sswank@archangelgabrielparish.org.
*The original online retreat was designed to be completed over four weeks. Although they offer a two day version, trying to complete the material in two days (which are seven hours each), can be overwhelming for the candidate and turns what should be a positive spiritual experience into a cumbersome task. Therefore AGP does not accept the two day version, only the four week version.
